Description

This will be a case-based session focusing on the uncommon presentation of pain in the trunk (thorax, abdomen, and pelvis). Experts in these fields will present unique cases from our own patient population and provide the appropriate history, physical, laboratory and imaging workup, differential diagnoses, and treatment algorithms. We will also use the Audience Response System to include interactivity. We will focus on the multidisciplinary approach to management of these syndromes. Our diverse background will make for a compelling academic seminar. We intend to utilize available evidence-based medicine where it exists.

    Learning Objectives
    • Perform an appropriate history and physical for a patient with female pelvic pain, male pelvic pain, abdominal pain, or thoracic pain.
    • Perform an appropriate laboratory and imaging workshop for a patient with female pelvic pain, male pelvic pain, abdominal pain, or thoracic pain.
    • List and distinguish between the most common diagnoses for patients with female pelvic pain, male pelvic pain, abdominal pain, or thoracic pain.
