This workshop will provide a short didactic review of the principles of ultrasound for procedural guidance. The remainder of the course will provide hands-on practice of muscle identification and skills techniques for ultrasound guided Chemodenervation procedures of key head and muscles and glands. Attendees will gain key skills in identifying muscles based on their pattern recognition or appearance when using B-mode ultrasound and critical techniques required for procedural guidance.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the sonoacoustic properties of muscle, nerve, tendon, gland and other soft tissues.
  • Identify key muscles and glands in the head and neck region based on their sonoacoustic appearance using pattern recognition.
  • List the limitations and advantages of in-plane guidance techniques for ultrasound guided procedures.

Paid ticket is required.
